Hola and welcome! I am Karina Olivas, Owner of Vida Marriage and Family Therapy, Pllc. I would like to acknowledge what a big step it is to be seeking a therapist, and say I have been there! Our parents, families and culture provide such insight into how we behave and react in relationships including partnerships, parenting, friendships and familial relationships. The curiosity of wanting to understand why people are the way that they are started me on the journey to become a therapist. I see couples, families, individuals and children. My practical approach to therapy makes healing/coping/changing tangible and accessible. I believe using humor and a practical approach to get to the emotional places in a safe space. I use an a few therapeutic approaches, however, I will focus on what best works for you and your growth. I received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University. I am in the process of completing a Child and Adolescent Counseling Certificate from Regis University to further develop my competence. I have completed training in Family Focused Therapy for Early-Onset Youth and Young Adults from the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Depression Center CU Anschutz Medical Campus. I see clients remotely via Telehealth, and have some flexibility for in person if needed.
